The story of Untamed Lands is rooted in a mythology set in pre-historic Ireland (Erin). One that starts not with Mora, but with the Titans...

The Titans

The Titans were the the first great power on Earth. Holding "human" form, they were physical embodiments or avatars of the aspects of the universe. Representing everything from water to wind to fire and even life and death, they used their powers in relative harmony to shape and control the growth of life on Gaia.

Until eight words changed everything.

The titan of sight sees everythings that is, was, and ever will be. Her prophecies were beyond question. Especially given that she was incapable of lying.

Unwilling to abandon paradise for the desolation of their homes, the titans of the Moon and Sun weighed their options. They reasoned that the prophecy could be defeated if there was nobody on Gaia who could harm them. In order for them to stay, the titans had to die.

The War

Several titans, such as Krystal (the Titan of Sight), Vulcan (the Titan of Fire), and Leviathan (the Titan of the Sea) joined forces with their friends in a war against the other titans. They didn't realize that Arcanus and Astra counted even their allies as enemies. In the waning days of the war, Astra and Arcanus turned on those who fought alongside them, needing to be sure that they eliminated every possible threat to their safety.

With the titans all but defeated, Terra was born. The titan of Earth was the last hope of defeating Arcanus and Astra and the planet itself shook from the ferocity of the final battles.

But not even Terra has the power to defeat the combined might of the moon and sun. When it was over, only Astra and Arcanus remained alive.

Yet when titans are killed, they transform into relics - objects that contain a fraction of the titan's power. In some cases, an echo of their consciousness also remains.

Krystal, the titan of sight, became the Oracle. Her spirit lived on inside it and her message to Astra and Arcanus was short:

So valuing their survival above all else, and faced with no other alternative, the last remaining titans had to leave Gaia.

The Birth of a Goddess

But with every end comes a new beginning and when Astra and Arcanus left, they left behind a legacy in the form of a human daughter - Mora - who they declared Empress of all Erin. Being born of the sun and moon, Mora had the power of her parents flowing through her. She was almost as powerful as the titan's themselves. She was a goddess.

She was alos just a baby. And so the last act of Astra and Arcanus before they left was to assign her a guardian. They took a warrior-king from a far-off land and they gave him superhuman strength, speed, and endurance. More, they bonded him to Mora such that he would protect her and do her bidding - to the death if needed.

As Mora grew up, Athenon trained her. He taught her to use her growing powers, how to fight, and how to rule. And as he prepared her for her empire, he prepared her empire for her.

Now old enough to begin to take full advantage of her powers, Gaia help those who dare stand against her.

And that's where this story really begins. With those who will.
